HPU Pre-College Music and Fine art Program

About the program

The HPU Music and Art Program, presented by HPU'due south School of Music and Fine Arts, serves Brownwood and the surrounding communities past offering music and art lessons to children and adults.  Instructors in the program include the HPU music and art faculty, experienced area teachers and student teachers.

Diane Owens

Diane Owens Thousand.Ed., Pre-College Music and Fine art Program Managing director, Advanced Master Teacher of Piano

Mrs. Owens holds a Bachelor of Scientific discipline in Education degree from the Academy of North Texas and a Masters of Pedagogy degree from Texas A&1000 Commerce. She and her husband Ron alive in Gouldbusk, Texas with their "kid", a French Brittany Spaniel, named Maisie May.

Brian Blanchard

Brian Blanchard, B.M., Master Teacher of Piano

Mr. Blanchard graduated from Howard Payne in May 2021 with a Available of Music in Piano-Emphasis in Pedagogy degree. He came to HPU in 2017 from Rockdale, Texas and now calls Brownwood home.

Dr. Church holds a Master of Church Music caste from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from Texas Tech University.  She and her hubby Dr. Gregory Church live in Brownwood, Texas. They accept two grown daughters attending Baylor University.

Laurel Glass

Laurel Glass, Acquaintance Teacher of Percussion

Laurel is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree at HPU. She is a senior  from Brownwood.

Stephen Goacher

Stephen Goacher, M.M., Professor of Music, Advanced Main Teacher of Woodwinds

Mr. Goacher holds a Available of Arts degree from UCLA and Master of Music degree from Texas Christian University. He teaches Jazz Studies and is the managing director of the HPU Jazz Ensemble. He and his married woman Doris live in Early, Texas.

Carolyn Hammock

Carolyn Hammock, Chief Instructor of Piano

Ms. Hammock holds an Associate of Scientific discipline in Optometric Technology from Crafton Hills College in Yucaipa, California and has 30 years of experience teaching music in a private school environs and in her piano studio. She has recently moved to the Brownwood/Early area from Southern California to live closer to her son Matt.

Chase Pittman

Chase Pittman, Associate Instructor of Guitar

Hunt is pursuing a Bachelor of Business in Bookkeeping caste and a music modest. He is a senior from Trophy Guild, TX.

Rishona Raub

Rishona Raub, Associate Teacher of Piano

Rishona is pursuing a Available of Arts in Strategic Communication degree and a music minor. She is a senior from Celina, TX.

Jennifer Reeves

Jennifer Reeves, M.M

Mrs. Reeves holds a Available of Music in Music Education degree from Southwest Texas State University and a Main of Music in Vocal Performance caste from Baylor University.  She is the Choir Director at Brownwood High School and as well assists with the Brownwood Middle School choir.  Jennifer and her husband Brad have ii children, a daughter, Braylee and son, Logan.  In her gratis fourth dimension, Mrs. Reeves enjoys performing at the Brownwood Lyric Theatre.

Cameron White

Cameron White, Associate Teacher of Percussion

Cameron is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree at HPU. He is a senior from Seguin, Texas.

Dr. Elizabeth Wallace

Elizabeth Wallace, Ph.D., Avant-garde Master Teacher of Pianoforte

Dr. Wallace holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education caste from Howard Payne University, a Masters of Music caste from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. from Texas Tech University. She and her husband Alan are both retired and live in Brownwood, Texas. They have ii developed children and 4 grandchildren.

Sally Davis

Sally Davis, MA Ed., Advanced Main Teacher of Fine art

Mrs. Davis holds a Available of Art in Fine art Education from Marymount College in Kansas, a Primary of Scientific discipline in Educational Assistants from Fort Hays State University and a Masters of Art Education from Texas Tech Academy. This fall will mark Mrs. Davis's 38thursday year of educational activity art to all levels from Pre-K to grade 12, to undergraduate courses in diverse colleges in Kansas and Texas. She and her husband Matthew live in Early, Texas. They have two daughters, one granddaughter and a grandson on the way.
